Certification

The BAS industry has long-suffered from a lack of non-proprietary certifications which establish the skills standards needed by technicians at the associate-and professional-levels.

ACP has conducted extensive national research, in collaboration with Ohio State University’s Center on Education and Training for Employment (CETE) focused on defining a baseline of skills required of BAS technicians. ACP’s research adheres to the prescriptive procedures set forth by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) guideline 17024 for industry certifications.

Certification Matters

Completion of BAS certifications will define the skills standards for the industry for those just entering the field, while also providing a clear pathway for professional development for incumbent workers.

The effort also benefits employers by clearly establishing the skills expected of recent BAS graduates and seasoned professionals alike.
